Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

In addition to traditional religious education, SPPS offers Catechesis of the Good Shepherd to children in Preschool through 2nd grade and CCD Kindergarten and 1st grade. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori based religious formation program for children. It seeks to create a Sacred space for children to hear, ponder, and celebrate the most essential mysteries of the Christian faith as revealed in Scripture and Liturgy. This Sacred space is called the Atrium. The themes presented in the Atrium follow the liturgical calendar and the materials used invite the child to fuller participation at Mass and in the life of the Church.
