National Catholic Youth Conference – Nov. 2011 Photo Gallery

Youth representatives from Sts. Peter and Paul Parish attended the Indianapolis’ National Catholic Youth Conference  which took place November 17-19, 2011 .  They joined many Catholic Youth from across the United States who just all gathered together to celebrate and have fun together.   Kids signed each other’s shirts, traded items such as necklaces, hats, etc. and texted each other.

On the first night of the event,  Bob McCarty, executive director of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, talked to the youth about the theme of the conference,  Called To Glory .

On the second night of the NCYC conference, keynote speaker Bishop Luis Zarama,  auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, discussed how he had witnessed all the teens connecting with each other throughout the day.   He stressed to the teens that they need to be thinking about , also,  their connection with Christ and to think about what God’s plan is for them.

Some 23,000 youth attended the two day event.  Events like NCYC can help enlighten teens as to the difference a connection with Christ can make.
